Mom and Dad

Guest post of the week by Brittany Booker

Mom and dad asked me to look up internet providers by zip code for them when they moved in to their new house but I was just overwhelmed with stuff to do for my own little family. I mean, I love them, obviously, but it’s hard enough keeping a husband and three kids satisfied and healthy without having to take on any of the burdens of helping my parents move year after year. It’s like they enjoy the packing of boxes and closing on a house – I just don’t get it. They swear to me that this house is going to be the last one for a while and I hope they’re telling the truth. It’s such a great spot and it’s got so much land… I don’t know what else they could want, really, and that’s the honest truth. I love my parents but I can’t keep indulging their retirement fantasies at the sake of my own family – if they want to do crazy stuff they’re going to have to do it on their own.

Build-A-Bear Workshop Celebrates 15 Yr Birthday!

Like most teenagers, Build-A-Bear Workshop wants everyone to know about their 15th birthday! An also like an average teen, Build-A-Bear Workshop can't hold back the fact that they have made 100 million best friends in their lifetime so far.

I can understand the excitement of both these milestones, since I have definitely passed the age of 15 and I have made several best friends over the years. Several of my girlfriends, two I have been best friends with for over 40 years, are the kind of people I can count on to be there for me no matter what. I am there for them too. Having friends like this cannot be compared to any other kind of wealth, for they are priceless.

Why don't you visit Build-A-Bear today and wish them a happy 15th birthday. Also, if you are a blogger, you  can blog about this great celebration and talk about how friends count for a chance to win one of fifteen $50 gift cards to Build-A-Bear. I have had a blast writing this post, and so hope to win this gift card for my granddaughter's birthday!

By publishing this post, I was entered to win a gift card as part of a promotional offer from MomSelect and Build-A-Bear Workshop. All opinions are my own.

Thankful for my Sister

Guest written by our friend Sergio Chaney
I finally got my own place. I have been waiting and waiting to have a place of my own and now I finally do. I have to give my sister a lot of credit because without her, I would probably still be living with my parents. To be honest, the entire situation has been a little frustrating. When I was in school, everything came so easy to me. If I was studying for a test, I knew I was going to do well. If I was writing a speech, I knew I was going to speak well. However, the real life stuff has my head spinning. I didn’t even know the first place to start. Thankfully, my sister pointed me in the right direction. She told me which power company to use. How to chose the best direct tv chula vista company. She even taught me some tricks to talk companies down on their asking prices. It was hard to ask for help, but I don’t know what I would have done without it. I am sure she is wondering why her “smart” brother is so stupid, but I guess I was only good at remembering history facts and nothing else. I hope I pick all the real life stuff up quick because I can’t be depending on my sister forever.
